About VMA
-
Hi! My name is Christina, the Founder of VMA. I moved from Alabama to California with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music degree and a good 6 years of experience. I wanted something more when moving to Brawley, CA. Searched everywhere for fellow piano instructors here in Brawley, but could not find a current teacher teaching. So, I decided to start my own business. I believe in the power of music must reside within a town or community. It took awhile for it to get up and running. There was a lot of research on how to operate a music studio along with how to communicate to the community about music lessons. Flyers at Starbucks to word-of-mouth in church and friends. Finally, I started teaching students and the rest is history!

We looked to see where we could expand VMA business. I wanted more for the community. The tiny studio was just too tiny. So, we looked and found a great place to get started. We wanted the community to explore more instruments other than the piano. I hired guitar, violin, and drum instructors. We spread the news around to all of Brawley about lessons in the academy. Here, we are, helping the community explore and try out new skills with instruments, teaching students about music, and to open up a new door for them to love music and appreciate it.

Our goal is to help the community of Brawley and anyone else to love music and to enjoy playing an instrument. VMA understands the significants of learning how to play an instrument. From identifying patterns, listening skills, math, science, art, showing emotions, to critical thinking, music has an array of building knowledge and character into a person. It even helps with people who have Alzheimer's or with arthritis. We want this place to be a place where anyone can come in and be themselves. Where students are not afraid to make mistakes. A place where we can connect as students and teachers and help each other out to make the best experience and environment.
